Running is my new thing.
I just realized that I haven't blogged in ages. We've gone through a whole bunch lately. Will's had tubes put in his ears and had his adenoids removed, my sister Andrea has had a baby, we're remodeling our bathroom, and the list goes on and on. My "new" thing is running. I really have started to enjoy it more that it is over a half an hour of peace. Nobody is calling my name or asking a question. Nobody is tapping me or wanting me to pick them up. It's nice. I can totally understand a runner's high, it's all about being left alone!

You know you don't have any more babies when...
....... you start packing up all of the baby stuff that you have saved.
....... have to chase a have naked toddler around the house and think that it was easier when he was not walking.
........ you realize that nobody at your house "smells" like a baby. (They tend to smell like stinky little boys OR stinky big boys)
........ when you can't shop in the baby section of stores anymore
I'm starting to miss a baby....but not enough to have another one!

When it rains, it pours!
How come my life seems to snowball when it comes to things I have to get done? I was looking at my March calendar and compared to my semi-uneventful February calendar and realized that I have a whole lot on my plate. How is it that February had almost nothing in but March is one thing right after another? Jr. Women's Club meeting, presenting at a Garden Club meeting, hair cuts for the boys, Directors Conference in Greensboro, Clinical Teacher's conference, doing Children's Church every Sunday in March, just to name a few.

Some days are way more entertaining than others! I'm co-hosting a baby shower for a friend of mine in Wilmington. The funny part comes into the fact that Matthew get to stay home with the boys while it is raining AND the youngest has a stomach virus. Sometimes there is poetic justice in this world! I can't wait to get home and see what state my house has been left in.

So this year I got lucky enough to get a student teacher. Now when I say lucky, I really mean lucky because the lady that is here is really awesome! She seems to really love working with student and she "gets" most of them.
Her being in my room this year has made me reflect on my own student teaching experience. I student taught at an elementary school in Greensboro and absolutely thought that my OSTE (on site teacher educator-that's what they called the clinical teacher) walked on water. She was an older lady, about 4 years from retirement and she was "old school". Hester Cunningham was a one in a million! There were so many things that I learned during my time with her. (Heck we took 4 classes of 5th graders to Washington DC for a week, if that wasn't a lesson in patience then nothing at all is.)
I think that I'll have to give her a call.

My New Addiction
Ok, so I've always known that I have a bit of an addictive personality. Heck, if you knew the amount of coffee that I drank every morning that would be fact enough that I have an addictive personality. The truth of the matter is I have a new addiction. It's those re-usable shopping bags. You know the ones that you can get for just about a dollar at many of the local retail or grocery stores, yep that's my addiction. I have 3 Harris Teeter ones, 2 Walgreens ones, 1 WalMart one, 1 Piggly Wiggly one, and 1 Food Lion one, and 1 Lowe's one. I am always on the lookout for new and different ones. None of mine are the same, so it's sort of a challenge to find new ones. It's sort of like a little game that I play with myself when ever I go shopping.....let's see if they have one of those bags. I do use them when I go grocery shopping and here at work I am looking at one of the Walgreens ones that I used to carry in stuff to school. I wonder if CVS has one???????

Time for myself....
So I sometimes wonder when I will ever have time to myself again.......truly to myself........without interruption of small children..........without interruption of a husband asking random questions...............without having to think about if the laundry is done or if the dishes are done.....without worrying about my parents. What did I do with all of my time when I was single and when I didn't have kids? Am I asking too much to think that I need some just "me" time?
